New Emergency Department and Bed Tower

Description & Scope: | Nutting Engineers was hired by Miami Children’s Hospital to perform a geotechnical exploration to determine subsurface conditions for the planned construction of a proposed construction of a new one-story 43,562 SF emergency department including renovations to an existing space and future plans of a five-story 189,320 SF bed tower to be located above the new emergency department. The bed tower addition is to be supported on the same columns and foundation as the emergency department. To date, Nutting Engineers has performed the geotechnical exploration/engineering and test pit investigation at the project site. Other notable projects for the Miami Children’s Hospital include: Four Level Parking Garage: Nutting Engineers performed geotechnical exploration/engineering, drainage evaluation, construction materials testing and inspection services for the construction of a new four level free standing parking garage with 750 parking spaces and a new perimeter services driveway at the north and west site of the garage.
